Arachidonic Acid
Descriptions:
Arachidonic acid, or AA or ARA, is an omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid. ARA is an essential fatty acid in early childhood. However, the ability of ARA synthesis in infants is relatively low. Therefore, for infants who are in the golden stage of physical development, providing certain ARA in food will be more conducive to their physical development. Lack of ARA may have serious adverse effects on the development of human tissues and organs, especially the development of the brain and nervous system. The growth posterity can be transformed by essential fatty acids linoleic acid and linolenic acid, so it belongs to semi-essential fatty acids. Medical studies have shown that infants given DHA and ARA have intelligence scores seven points higher than those given regular formula.
Functions:
1. Anti-peptic ulcer and gastrointestinal dysfunction, action on the uterus
2. Arachidonic acid is an important substance in the development of human brain and optic nerve, which plays an important role in improving intelligence and enhancing visual acuity
3. Arachidonic acid has a series of physiological activities, such as esterifying cholesterol, increasing vascular elasticity, reducing blood viscosity, and regulating blood cell function
4. Arachidonic acid has important effects on prevention of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and tumors
5. High purity arachidonic acid is the direct precursor of twenty carbon derivatives such as prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leukotrienes. These bioactive substances play a very important role in the cardiovascular system and the immune system of human body
